This? This is a Love Bug! I got to rub his belly less than 24 hrs after he got home. I can touch his paws. I can touch his tail. But Bast help the *kitty* who comes near his food or his toy!

He was clearly socialized by someone as a wee kitten. And just as clearly learned he had to defend his food and his stuff from other cats at some point (he was found alone and fending for himself in a rural area. Nothing else was known). I just wish I could figure out how old he is. File says 7 months. He certainly has a pretty grown up face.

And he's pretty big too.

But it looks like his eyes are still changing colour, which usually happens by about 4 months.

And his baby fangs are just being replaced now. (that top one wasn't even visible yesterday morning, and hadn't broken skin yesterday afternoon. Yesterday evening, however....), which usually happens between 4-6 months.

Well, however old he is, he sure has one fat, happy little belly!

More purrs needed

My OTW is SUCH a lazy human slave and she only seems to have time to help me blog when she doesn't want to do stuff she thinks she should. So I only get to blog when she's upset and refusing to do her works.

This is my old sun-buddy Andy. I used to live with him in the warm and sunspotty Vancouver.

He's sick and the V-E-T says he doesn't have very long left before he runs off to the Bridge. Maybe a month if the treatment doesn't work, but only maybe 6 months if it does.

He and the Ginger Lady who grew us fresh nip could use some purrs for a peaceful passage.

We could use a few good purrs to Ceiling Cat too.

I don't think Persephone and the Unnecessary Kitten realize it yet, but I heard the OTW and the Big One talking and they're really upset and saying the 'M' word a lot and how we have to do it fast. And something about living with DAWGS!!!!! (But she did say at least we'd be far away from the bad air, if it comes back. The 'M' word doesn't have anything to do with bad air, though, I think. It's gone away a squillion naps ago, anyway.)

Also, the OTW killed a bird today. I'd be proud of her newfound hunting skills, but she's sad about the little featherball and didn't even eat it, or bring it home for us. I think she's weird, but when she's sad I get all uneasy and crabilated, so I guess she could use some purrs too.

Bad Air

Hey! Mom-Lady! Why can't I go in this bag? Why are you putting my toys in there? And my beds? Hey, my tunnel!

Opposable-Thumb-Mommy-Lady: Tenzing, you have plenty of other toys out and your BIGGER tunnel. And I closed the window because I can't breathe. Persephone-sweetie, the noisy people can't come in here I promise. Bless you, Jack!

Cat mommies and Daddies and Food Ladies and such, I need a quick second opinion. This is what I've got in my:

Cat Emergency Evacuation Bag

~1 Pop-up Cat-Containment Unit (in case of ending up somewhere they're not allowed to roam free)

~6 cans of gooshy fuds (they don't get a lot per day, so that should last about 2-3 weeks)
~2 week supply of kibble
~1 bag of Tem-tay-shuns

~1 set of plastic food and water dishes
~1 cat/small dog travel kit (fold-out basket and pad, collapsible food and water bowls)
~1 "40 paws" hammick (YAY! It's collapsible and easy to pack)
~1 fleece blanket
~1 piece of studio drop-cloth covered in Jack furs ( I gave up on getting it off)
~1 fuzzy cat bed (one of the three Jack got for his birthday; not collapsible, but squishy)

~1 collapsible play-tunnel for Red Menisses, for to keep occupied
~1 large ziploc baggie containing catnip playthings
~1 small tin of catnip
~1 spare cardboard scratcher

Missing:
~1 (allegedly {sure... if you're all 3 feet tall!}) 3-man dome tent for secondary Cat-Containment Unit (currently in our trailer-can be fetched quickly if evac notice leaves us enough time, will try to get sooner, all three cats CANNOT go in the one small CCU)
~1 covered cat litter box for Miss Elevator-Butt's CCU (can be grabbed from studio if not fleeing quickly, will fake it with garbage bag if necessary)

In car:
~2 disposable cat litter pans
~2 additional boxes of litter

Am I missing anything? (none of them require medication, and our first aid kit includes anything we might use on the cats without vet supervision)

Oh, and in case anyone's worried... We are listed as in the Disaster Area. But the last time I checked, the nearest fire is still 100km away (61mi) and has been stalled there a while. It is listed as 'out of control' and the wind is blowing it in this direction, but the winds are dying, the temperatures are dropping (it's actually below 10C (below 50F) now) and we're expecting rain soon. We are NOT under evacuation notice or alert and they don't expect us to be. Our biggest threat at the moment is smoke making breathing difficult.

OTW here: I just wanted to say thank you on behalf of all of us for your purrs for the Big One.

He left today for his mother's place. The memorial will be on the 26th. There wasn't enough money to spare at the moment for both of us to go, and probably just as well, as the trip to the airport 2 1/2 hrs away has turned out to be the first time he's been able to be alone and have some quiet time to sort this all out inside. And he likely won't get any once he's there surrounded by his rather numerous extended family (who I'm profoundly glad he and his mother have).

If you feel so inclined, some continued good thoughts for him as he tries to write a fitting eulogy to say goodbye to his only sibling, so very many years before he ever expected to.

Oh, it's on. The house-trashing is ON!!!

She tricked me! The wench TRICKED ME! She went away this weekend, but didn't frantically sew stuff all week or pack anything until afternoon and she was gone just NAPS later!!!

And she stuck goop on my paw right before she left, so I didn't even get proper cuddles to growl at her during!!!

She's not coming back until TUESDAY! This house is going DOWN! Everycat, come over and let's MAKE A MESS!!!!!

We have boxes and box forts to destroy and play Box Wars in!

We have cubby holes right below the TV and DVDS to knock over stuff from and play Cubby Hole Wars in!

Upstairs Neighbourcat needs purrs

This is Upstairs Neighbourcat.

He likes to lean over his balcony and talk to me! We talk about floof and stuff, 'cause Jack and Persephone have none!

Sometimes he leans out really far.

We think last night he leaned out too far, 'cause we heard him meowing and meowing, and Mom-lady-Person went out on the balcony to look, but she heard the meowing from the ground instead of above, so she went down to look with a flashlight because she didn't think it was him anymore but thought the kitty sounded sad and scared.

But he knows this is his building so when she got downstairs we heard her open the door and he was right there waiting at the door and he said thank you and went in with her and she took him upstairs to his home, and banged on the door so loud we could hear it down here, until his people woked up and came and opened the door and let him in his house again.

But Mom-Lady-Person says he was hurt, probably because the only way to go from his balcony to the ground is to jump really REALLY far down. She says he wasn't walking on one of his back legs at all and she thought she saw a little bit of a scrape, but she's not Dr Tara and didn't want to hurt him by checking wrong. She says it probably can't be too bad, because she had to pick him up and tuck him under her arm like she carries me to my room when she's holding my gooshy foods, and he didn't seem to mind even though she says she was pressing his butt against her side. And she says his heart was going a little fast, but he didn't struggle or seem scared of her.

I hope Dr Tara can fix his leg! Could you all please purr for my friend?

Persephone: I was going to do a Thursday 13 to show you just how Bad my Bad Brother, Tenzing GetoutoftheTREEEEEEEE is, but he's so Bad I have LOTS more Bad Things he does to show you!

He climbs things he's not supposed to

Even in cupboards he's not supposed to be in.

And then he bites things he's not supposed to mess with

And plays 'Will it Break or Will it Bounce' with things he's not supposed to play with

And steals things he's not supposed to steal

And walks on things he's not supposed to be on

And wreaks things Mommy and Daddy have to pay for!

He chews on Mommy's hair

And her books

Rips apart her stuff

And messes with her Important Strings

Steals her bookmarks out of her books

And Daddy's food RIGHT OUT OF HIS MOUTH!

He goes on Mommy's desk when she's eating yogurt, and pretends he's not REALLY on the desk

He destroys Mommy and Daddy's litter-box papers

He's always trying to catch and eat my pretty curly tail

And biting me

And Jack

And MOMMY!!!!

And NOW he hangs out in NIPIUM DENS!!!!

Mommy says Daddy's kitten is MADE OF BAD!!! Mommy says he ought to be in JAIL!

But he can't even do THAT without being bad!

Rolling for Eric again

It's not FAIR!!! I Rolled for Eric! I rolled really hard! I even did it again this weekend and I made Mom take pictures and I was going to post them today for Gingersday and tell Eric so he knew he had to get better and knew that we loved him and then he ran away to the Rainbow Bridge before I could tell him! Didn't I roll hard enough? Was I supposed to roll more? I tried but Mom doesn't leave the screen open when she sleeps or at night. Why didn't Eric get better?

See? I rolled really good!

Mom says sometimes nothing anycat or anyhuman can do helps, and it sounds like Eric had what Whisper, the Cat Who Came Before had, and then they have to go to the Bridge because it hurts a lot and it's better for Eric now because he doesn't hurt and he can play and eat and do anything he wants now, and that sounds like a lot of fun, but now I hurt a lot because Eric is gone, and I wanted him to get better so he could tell me how to be a Floofy Ginger Mancat!

I'm going to go out and roll some more for him anyway. Maybe he can see it from the Rainbow Bridge and know I tried?

Mom says we get rainbows here a lot...

Ginger Wednesday-Roll For Eric!

You know how some humans do stuff for a really long time to make other humans all better? Well, my ginger friend Fat Eric is all sick and so are some other kitties like William and Russell's sister Olivia, and some other cats too, but I don't know them, but they're still sick so I thought if I did something for a really long time like the humans do then maybe they'd get all better like humans do, so I'm going to Roll for Eric! (And Olivia and all the other kitties!)

Was that enough? Are they all better now?
